Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 1, 2026
AutoClarity offers an informational vehicle-guidance iPhone app and a separately purchased, in-person Las Vegas pre-purchase inspection (PPI) service.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use AutoClarity.
1. Information We Collect
For the iPhone app, we may collect limited information necessary to operate the app, including:
- Symptom selections and diagnostic inputs
- Generated report data
- App usage data (e.g., screens viewed, actions taken)
- Purchase, subscription, and entitlement status
- Device and technical information (e.g., device type, OS version)
We do not collect sensitive personal information such as full payment card numbers.
2. Analytics and Tracking
We use Firebase Analytics (a Google service) to understand how users interact with the app, including events such as app opens, diagnostic flows, paywall views, and purchases.
This information is used to improve performance, usability, and conversion flow. Analytics data may be aggregated and does not directly identify you.
AutoClarity does not request Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission, use Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA), or use Firebase Analytics to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
3. App Purchases and Subscriptions
AutoClarity provides one successfully completed diagnostic report at no charge. Additional new reports are available through an auto-renewing annual subscription. Apple determines introductory-offer eligibility and displays the price that applies before purchase. Eligible U.S. customers may pay $9.99 upfront for the first year; the subscription then renews at $29.99 per year unless canceled. Localized equivalents apply outside the United States, and customers who are not eligible for the introductory offer see the current localized standard annual price. The introductory offer is not a free trial, lifetime purchase, or permanent renewal price.
- All payments are processed securely by Apple via the App Store
- We do not store or process your payment card details
- Subscriptions are managed or canceled through your Apple subscription settings
- Restore Purchases asks Apple and RevenueCat to recheck existing purchase and entitlement records
We use RevenueCat to manage purchase validation, subscription status, and entitlements. RevenueCat processes limited technical and transaction information (such as an app-specific customer identifier, product identifiers, purchase history, and entitlement status) on our behalf as a service provider.
Existing monthly subscribers continue to be validated under their existing subscription while it remains active. Records needed to honor legitimate legacy single-report purchases are also retained and validated so the purchased fulfillment is not removed. AutoClarity 2.0.1 does not offer a new single-report purchase.
4. Las Vegas PPI Information and Payments
When you request an in-person PPI, AutoClarity collects and uses information needed to review, quote, schedule and perform the inspection, including:
- Your name, email address, phone number and contact preference
- Vehicle details, including the VIN, year, make, model, trim, mileage, listing information, prices and condition details you provide
- The inspection location and seller contact information you provide
- Images you upload for review and the inspection report
- Quotes, appointment options, booking status, messages and report records
- Agreement records, including the document versions and hashes, typed name, acceptance time, IP address and browser information
- Payment amount, status and Stripe reference identifiers
- Limited first-party PPI activity records: an allowlisted event name, optional form step or source label, and timestamp
VINs are decoded using the public U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) vPIC service; the VIN is sent to that service for decoding. PPI payments are processed by Stripe. AutoClarity does not receive or store your full payment-card number.
The PPI activity table does not include fields for your name, contact details, VIN, inspection address, message content or payment-card details. AutoClarity uses these limited first-party records to understand steps such as request submission, quote review, scheduling and checkout initiation.
While you complete the PPI request form, your browser stores a draft containing the fields you entered for up to seven days. A successful submission or the form's clear-draft control removes that draft. The customer portal stores its secure-link token in that browser tab's session storage so the portal can return from Stripe Checkout. These browser-stored items remain on your device rather than being sent to another service solely for storage.
5. How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide app functionality and diagnostic reports
- Review, quote, schedule, perform and support an in-person PPI
- Record agreement acceptance, payment status, refunds and disputes
- Verify purchases and subscriptions
- Improve app performance and user experience
- Analyze usage trends
- Respond to support requests
- Maintain security and prevent abuse
- Comply with legal obligations
6. How Information Is Shared
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information with trusted third-party providers strictly for operating the app or PPI service, including:
- Analytics providers (e.g., Firebase/Google)
- Subscription infrastructure (e.g., RevenueCat)
- Stripe for PPI payment processing
- NHTSA vPIC for VIN decoding
- Our transactional email provider for service communications
- Cloudflare for website hosting, database, private file storage and bot protection
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect users, property, or safety.
7. Data Retention
We retain information only as long as necessary to operate the service, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations.
8. Data Deletion Requests
You may request deletion of data associated with your use of AutoClarity by emailing support@getautoclarity.com from the device or with details that help us locate your records. Upon a verified request, we will delete or de-identify the information we and our service providers (such as RevenueCat and Firebase) hold about your app usage, where deletion is technically feasible and not required to be retained by law.
Please note that app purchase and billing records held by Apple, and PPI transaction records held by Stripe, are subject to those providers' own policies; AutoClarity cannot directly delete provider records that it does not control.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live (for example, the European Union, United Kingdom, or California), you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information
- Object to or restrict certain processing
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@getautoclarity.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. You will not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights.
10. Data Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect data. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Children's Privacy
AutoClarity is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. App Informational Use Disclaimer
The AutoClarity app provides informational guidance only. App outputs are generated based on user input and predefined diagnostic logic and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or not applicable to your specific vehicle. The separately purchased in-person PPI is governed by the service documents accepted in the customer portal.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the applicable AutoClarity service after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
